What to expect

Total time: Many evaluations take 6–8 hours overall.

1. Intake interview

(typically an hour or less)
You’ll meet virtually with Dr. Krantweiss and a graduate student for a detailed intake. This helps clarify your concerns, history, goals, and which assessment measures are most appropriate.

2. Testing

(typically 4–6 hours)
Most measures are administered by well-trained and carefully supervised doctoral graduate students. Testing may include paper-and-pencil measures, tasks measuring intelligence and achievement, and computerized testing.

3. Report + feedback

(typically 30–60 minutes)
You receive a thorough written report with diagnoses (when applicable) and recommendations. Results are reviewed with you in a virtual feedback session.

Fees and payment

Fees are determined and discussed before testing begins. The established fee is all-inclusive, and the typical cost for most psychological or psychoeducational evaluations is $2500–$2700. Court-ordered evaluations are $6000.

If it becomes clear that additional testing is warranted during the evaluation, no additional charge is incurred.

Insurance and reimbursement

Health insurance is not accepted. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to seek partial reimbursement. We can provide billing codes and, at the end of the evaluation, paperwork you can submit to your insurance provider (many insurers do not reimburse for comprehensive testing).

Payment timing

Half of the fee is due at the start of the evaluation. The balance is due at the conclusion of the feedback session following testing and report writing. Personal checks are not accepted; major credit cards are accepted.
